Condition
French version, posterior of one year to the original English, of this beautiful work of the Scottish scientist, friend and admirer of Newton, professor of mathematics at the University of Edinburgh. The work is divided into four books: Of the method of proceeding in natural philosophy; Theory of Motion and Rational Mechanics; Demonstration with the analysis of the law of gravitation; Effects of gravity force. The last chapter of the "Author and Supreme Governor of the Universe", and concludes with an argument in favor of a future life, which was dictated by the author a few hours before his death. The four books are preceded by a news story about the life and works of Maclaurin.Very fresh specimen, wide margins.
