Rare and important edition regarding the history of coin size variations, with the four books of Quaestiones Forenses of the famous Italian jurist, magistrate of the Duke of Savoy. The famous Trattato De variatione monetarum is located between the first two and the next two books, with individual numbering and dated 1612: in the Renaissance, the States reduced the value of the currency. The outcome was the problematic payment of debts previously contracted. Tesauro examines all issues relating to this complex subject: Prices and values, falsifications, definitions of interest and usury, intrinsic and face value of the coins. Slight lacking on the back but nice specimen with large margins.
