Pale bisque socket head with blue inset eyes, closed pursed mouth, pierced earlobes, unmarked head and shoulder. Although excellent quality, the characteristics of the head are likely for one to assume it is of German origin rather than French. None the less it is a very nice doll and the shoulder is mounted to a very nice body with straight arms and individually stitched fingers, gusset joints at hips and sewn joints at the knees. Costume is that of a country lady with linen blouse, old underwear, a blue cotton vest and blue and white striped wool skirt with overlaid lace apron. She has a curly white sheepskin wig over cork pate. Some typical slight surface discoloration on fingers. (Very Good). 17-1/2'' T.
