Description
A TRADITIONAL GEORGIAN CUT GLASS MAGNUM "PRUSSIAN" DECANTER AND STOPPER, CIRCA 1800, barrel shaped with three faceted neck rings over panel cut shoulders and finely fluted base, topped by the original beveled bull's-eye stopper, height: 11 1/2"; accompanied by a fine and unusual etched handblown glass magnum decanter and stopper, probably 19th Century, in the form of an upright circular disc, or target, the clear round solid glass center enclosed by the frond etched holding chamber surmounted by a short neck and inverted lip, topped by the original conformingly etched mushroom stopper, height: 10 1/2". NOTE: The term "Prussian" is used when referring to barrel shaped decanters. Provenance: Estate of the Late James K. Schooler, Esq.
Condition
The heavy cut glass is in superb condition, with no large chips, cracks, or repairs. The "Prussian" decanter has a noticeable blue hue. General wear, including light scuffs and scratches throughout, but in excellent condition considering the age. Both stoppers appear to be original.
