Simultaneously dazzling and awe-inspiring, a magnificent gilded copper necklace comprised of nine intricately designed pendants meticulously adorned with floral, foliage-inspired, and stylized geometric motifs, the largest central piece with danglers, each with mesmerizing detail that could have only been created by a master artisan given the expert technique. A piece of such opulence would have been worn by a bride or groom of noble status. Traditionally these individuals would be treated as kings or queens at their weddings. This association of marriage with royal status draws upon ancient Indonesian beliefs in which the sacred ancestral couple as well as women revered for their fertility are accorded elite social and religious value.
