1st-2nd century AD. A bronze figurine of a lioness advancing on a curved base, the left foreleg placed on a circular shield with a facing female(?) mask modelled in the half-round; Eastern empire workmanship. 93 grams, 66mm (2 1/2"). Property of a European gentleman living in the UK; formerly in a private collection formed in the 1990s.
