Description
An unusual Quimbaya figure from Colombia, ca. 1000 - 1500 AD. This adorable seated female from the Middle Cauca region is 3-1/4 in high and is posed with hands resting on the outstretched legs. She is wearing a headdress described as an eagle with spread wings. Heavily encrusted, rare type. Ex Melnick collection.
