Description
Ancient Near East, ca. 1700 BCE. This is a round-socketed cast bronze adze blade, nominally a wood working tool, but probably made also to be used as a sign of wealth and prestige and a burial good. The patina on this piece is gorgeous, a deep blue green that indicates a high tin percentage in the bronze alloy. Size: 5.4" L x 2.1" W (13.7 cm x 5.3 cm)
