Description
John Ewan (American (Charleston, South Carolina), active 1823-1852). The maker registered at 127 King Street, a fine American coin silver tankard or handled cup with reeded bands to the mouth and base and having a shaped handle to one side. Engraved to front "JS / 1851 / C.A.A.Jr. / Front Auntie 1924". Underside with two impressed maker's marks "J.EWAN". Approximate height 3.625". Approximate weight 6.3 troy ounces.
