Europe, Poland, ca. mid-20th century CE. A beautifully carved and painted bird with a long beak and tail standing upon a half log. The bird's body features painted black and white wings with additional deep, cobalt blue highlights, abstractly delineated black and white tail feathers with cobalt blue undersides, a cobalt blue head with black and white eyes, and a long red beak. A wonderful example of animorphic folk art from Poland. Size: 19" L x 2.75" W x 6.5" H (48.3 cm x 7 cm x 16.5 cm)
