Description
Comprises: 1.) Champagne-tone satin ribbon silver-tone thread fringe at bottom edge. Bears blue imprinted text "National / Association of / Democratic Clubs / St. Louis, Oct. 3rd, 1896." Features a 1-3/4" diameter halftone on paper portrait [celluloid missing] with legend "For President, Wm. J. Bryan." Retains polished white metal pinback hanger engraved "16 to 1." 2.) Champagne-tone satin ribbon with blue stripes at either side and siver-stamped text "Bryan / And / Sewell / Free Silver / 16 To 1 / No Compromise." Features a celluloid halftone jugate of Bryan and Sewell with a white metal bezel holed at top and bottom for attachment. Bears an affixed U.S. flag accent at top edge. Retains integral "T" back pin. Reverse bears Whitehead & Hoag paper label.
Condition
Portrait ribbon bears small holes, soiling, and a 1-1/2" horizontal tear at upper right side affecting text. Jugate ribbon frayed at bottom edge.
