Description
9-1/2" x 12-1/2" wooden frame under glass, containing an array of 15 items. Includes portrait, jugate, and illustrated celluloid buttons, badge, stud, and pins [sizes from 7/8" diameter to 1-1/2" diameter] with a group pins. Candidates comprise William McKinley [Republican], Joshua Levering [Prohibition], Thomas E. Watson [ People's Party], and John M. Palmer [National Democratic]. Features a 1-1/2" button with photographic portrait of McKinley seated upon his porch. Captioned at bottom "McKinley At Home" with lengthy quote at top edge "I Believe it a good deal better to open up the mills of the United States to labor of America than to open up the mints of the United States to the silver of the world." All items personally selected and arranged by APIC Charter Member Monroe D. Ray, New York.
Condition
Generally very good. McKinley badge has a celluloid portrait lifting from mount, "McKinley At Home" button darkened, and Watson button exhibiting light foxing.
