Alice Pleasance Liddell (4 May 1852 – 16 November 1934), known for most of her adult life by her married name, Alice Hargreaves, inspired Carroll's children's classic Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, whose protagonist Alice is said to be named after her. Carroll was born Charles Lutwidge Dodgson. The International Museum of Photography at the George Eastman House, Rochester, New York, granted permission to use the original negative to produce this gravure. Overall size: 15 11/16 x 11 3/4 in.
