Turner/Copied in the National Gallery London" at lower left, a partial canvas stamp en verso, 30-1/2" x 50-1/2". In an attractive carved giltwood frame.

In generally very good estate condition. Slight loosening of canvas from its stretcher. Scattered craquelure, accretions and soiling. Inpainting repairs to left edge, several areas in the foreground and sky. Small scattered losses to paint, mainly to edges along with pinprick-sized losses in the mid-section and sky. Left edge with several pinprick-sized holes, possibly from nails where the canvas was attached to the original stretcher.
