Description
An early 20th century sapphire and diamond brooch. Of geometric design, the graduated oval and cushion-shape sapphire collet line, with old-cut diamond triangular-shape sides. Principal sapphire accompanied by report number 5776-5728, dated 27th May 2016, from the Gemmological Certification Services stating the sapphire has an estimated weight of 1.30cts, Burmese origin, with no indication of heat treatment. Estimated total diamond weight 2cts, principal diamond estimated H-J colour, SI1-P1 clarity. Length 5.5cms. Weight 11.6gms.
Overall condition good. Minor surface scratches/wear in keeping with general age and wear. Some stones may be replacement. Please see gem report for further principal sapphire details. Diamonds fairly bright. Diamond colour varies. One of the principal diamond with a small chip to the girdle. Diamonds assessed within the limitations of the setting. Sapphire medium purplish-blue, well saturated, with good clarity and typical inclusions. Stones in good condition with minor abrasions.
