MARCUS & CO: SAPPHIRE AND DIAMOND BROOCH/PENDANT, EARLY 20TH CENTURY
The central oval-cut sapphire within an openwork quatrefoil border of floral and foliate motifs, millegrain-set throughout with old brilliant and single-cut diamonds, sapphire stated to weight 9.29 carats, length 4.5cm

Condition
The sapphire is a vivid and highly transparent medium blue gem of rich saturation. Under 10 X magnification, two feather inclusions and a small area of silk inclusions seen. Reverse of sapphire collet signed Marcus & Co. Clasp stamped 14K. Untested white and yellow metals with light surface wear. Spots of old solder to both ends of pin fitting. Overall in good condition. Gross weight approx. 13.0 grams.
