A Hirons, Plante & Co. Victorian Silver and Engraved Glass Claret Jug, Birmingham, England, circa 1864

The claret having silver spout, neck, and handle, spout with beaded border and shell thumbrest to lid, elongated neck with engraved foliate designs surrounding central blank cartouche, curved handle with bifurcated joint mounts, lower glass body with crosshatched etching throughout, sunburst cartouches to each side encasing conforming crosshatching, raised on rounded base with reeded underside.

Condition
Light waviness to spout lid from guarantee mark imprint, light scratching to body and residue to interior, internal fissure to base approx 0.25 inches long, otherwise presenting well with surface scratches commensurate with age, polishing, and use.
