ca 1850's American heavy gilt gesso frame. Inner gold frame is nailed to solid oak frame base. Interior size fits 28 1/2" x 35 1/2", frame total 38 1/2" x 45 1/2". Property of the William Gwinn Mather's Estate. Mathers was the president of Cleveland-Cliffs Iron Company.
