Central America, Guatemala, early 20th century CE. A pair of antique hand-carved and painted wooden slingshots - one in the form of a standing person, the other in the form of a jaguar-headed human wearing some a grass or fur suit. Elaborately carved slingshots (ondillas) are a common theme of Guatemalan folk art from this time period. Size: 1.7" W x 6.3" H (4.3 cm x 16 cm)
