Only one of two known pairs.Each modelled as a baluster shaped column of thick green leaves around of stem of lighter green colour leaves supporting more green Majolica ‘Leafage’ Candlesticks c.1860. Only one of two known pairs. Each modelled as a baluster shaped column of thick green leaves around of stem of lighter green colour leaves supporting more green leaves forming the drip pan and holding a large open blossom with pink edges forming the candle holder and all on a circular cushioned base of lush green leaves, with an ochre band scrolling acanthus to the outer edge and a green circular foot rim. The style, quality and subject matter represent Minton’s early Palissy inspired pieces c.1850-1860, e.g. The Minton ‘Palissy' Ice Stand’ c.1857 ( see pg. 102, Atterbury, Batkin)., 11 1/2”h
