Tulip & Butterfly Candlesticks c.1875, each modelled as an upright tulip & large green leaves forming the body, with an blossom forming the candle holders, a butterfly below on a circular earthy ground. These rare candle sticks form part of a dressing table set all designed around blossoms and butterflies, 9". See the original George Jones artwork for the complete dressing table set see: Majolica, Nicholas M Dawes, Crown Publishers, page 35. Each of these objects could be purchased separately and butterflies on several items were an optional extra. No other known pair of these candlesticks.
