Description

Convolvulus & Butterfly Chamber Stick c.1875, the blossom forming the candle holder, above a circular green leaf tray with a large butterfly and a leaf ring handle. This chamber stick is part of a dressing table set all designed around blossoms and butterflies, 5 1/2"w, 3 1/2"h. See the original George Jones artwork for the complete dressing table set see: Majolica, Nicholas M Dawes, Crown Publishers, page 35. Each of these objects could be purchased separately and butterflies on several items were an optional extra.
