This is a 1958 1st Edition 1st Printing of Martin Luther King’s Stride Toward Freedom, A leader of his people tells The Montgomery Story. Martin Luther. Stride Toward Freedom. 230 printed pages and this is 8vo in size and bound in publisher's half-cloth and paper-covered boards and dust-jacket, slight wear to the jacket, and fading to the spine with a none price clipped Dust Wrapper. Published in New York by Harper and Brothers, 1958. First Edition, First printing with the H-H on the publication page of Dr. King's first book, including the story of the Montgomery Municipal Bus boycott, which he organized. The book details the logistics of the boycott and the violence and threats committed against King, sometimes dozens of threats per day. Dr. King also discusses his reading of Gandhi and his own worldview, including, of course, the nonviolent philosophy. This has been signed on the main title page in black ink by Martin Luther King Jr.
