After John James Audubon "Cedar Bird" engraving with aquatint and handcoloring on wove paper by Robert Havell. Marked upper left, "No. 9" and upper right, "Plate XLIII". Watermark in upper right quadrant, "J Whatman 1832". Notation in pencil lower left of plate. Plate: 19.375"H x 12.25"W; Sheet: 38.06"H x 25.5"W; Frame: 43.875"H x 36.5"W. PROVENANCE: The Young Men's Association of the City of Buffalo, acquired prior to 8 February 1838 (see Fries, p. 237), which in 1886 changed its name to The Buffalo Library and, ultimately became part of The Buffalo and Erie County Public Library system in 1954 -- The Buffalo Society of Natural Sciences, acquired in 1996 from the preceding in exchange for the Milestones of Science collection.
