Description
1st item: Oil on canvas image of dove flying with branch in beak, unsigned. Housed in paneled gilt frame. Sight - 10 1/4" H x 12" W. Framed - 16 1/4" H x 18" W. Possibly American, 19th century. 2nd item: Hand colored engraving of yellow crested cockatoo from William Haye's "Portraits of Rare and Curious Birds from the Menagery of Osterly Park", London, Bulmer, 1794, titled "Lefser Cockatoo". Housed in Eastlake style wooden frame. Sight - 7 1/2" H x 9 1/2" W. Framed - 12 3/4" H x 14 7/8" W. English, 1st quarter 19th century. Condition
1st item: Overall cracklure. Stretcher marks visible. Repaired hole, 1/2" x 1/4" at top center. Frame with losses to gilt, hole in center of inner panel and 2-1/4" loss on lower outside edge as well as corners. 2nd item: Scattered foxing, water stain lower left margin, overall toning to paper.
