Rare John Kelly "La Dona Elegante" Artist Proof Edition Lithograph on Paper in Wood & Marbled Lacquer Frame W/COA - This rare find is a beautiful artist proof edition lithograph by famous artist John Kelly. The piece is titled "La Dona Elegante" and depicts an elegant, dream-like woman with a raging sea behind her. The artist has signed the piece in the lower right corner and signed "A/P" in the lower left. The artist also wrote the title of the piece in the center. On the back of the piece is a certificate of authentication. The piece (including the frame) measures 40" x 34". John Kelly was born in Scotland in 1939 and immigrated to Canada when he was a young boy. His experiences as a Merchant marine seaman sailing off the coasts of Canada and Alaska became the subject of his artwork. He studied under and collaborated with Lynton Kisteler to produce works that now reside at the Smithsonian Museum, and Kelly today is widely respected and honored for his past and present work as a painter lithographer, multimedia artist, lecturer, and musician.
