Item Details
Description
Small pair of 19th century photographs of the same young man, whose name was William according to the label pinned inside the boxed frame, which was called a union case in its day. One photo is a hand-colored tintype of William in a military uniform. The cases, of light-weight wood covered in embossed leather, are in very good shape; the burgundy fabric lining in each and the ornate brass frames over the glassed-in photographs are well preserved, as are the hinges on the outside, and the little brass hook closures still work perfectly. Each measures about 2.5 by 3 inches.
