Description
Rosewood box decorated with a sterling silver and enamel plaque by the Italian silversmith Ottaviani. Circa 1960’s. Signed with the maker’s signature and “925”. Double spiral motif in hand-worked silver and contrasting enamel of a deep shade of blue.
SIZE: 8” x 3.25” x 1.5” (20.25 cm x 8.25 cm x 3.75 cm)
NOTES: Ottaviani (1945-present) is a jewelry and silver firm located in the small seaside town of Recanati, Italy. Though active from 1945 and still in existence, they had a particularly inventive period from the mid 1950s until about 1970 when they produced wonderful designs in hammered silver with enamel.
