Description
Large English ceramic vase designed by Christopher Dresser and made by Old Hall. Circa 1885. Various impressed, printed, and painted marks for Old Hall on the bottom. Designed and decorated in the Aesthetic Period ~ Victorian taste of the late 19th century. The body with printed and painted floral designs, the shoulder and neck with pink under-glaze and sprayed gold overglaze. The handles, foot and top rim with sold gold gilding. Christopher Dresser designed and influenced the designs of ceramic manufacturers as varied as Minton, Wedgewood, Watcombe, Linthorpe, Old Hall and Ault for over four decades.
