Phoenicia, Eastern Mediterranean, Iron Age, ca. 1200 BCE. A breathtaking pair of thick bronze cast hoop-shaped torque (also spelled torq or torc) bracelets, both open ended with elaborate terminals. Each bracelet boasts finely incised abstract geometric details on the hoops and nature-inspired motifs (perhaps abstract representations of shells, leaves, or animal visages) on the termini. An impressive pair with wonderful artistry and a beautiful green patina. Custom, museum-quality stand. Size: 3.625" in diameter (9.2 cm) from end to end, interior measures 2.25" L x 2.5" W (5.7 cm x 6.4 cm)
