A large strand of Michoacán shell beads with stone celts, Mexico, c. AD 100 - 300, the shells over various sizes and types, the ends cut to reveal the internal spirals. They are strung with numerous cut shell beads including 2 fragments of a large greenstone celt. Necklace measures about 17 in (43.1 cm). Ex Harmer Rooke, NY, (July 1988) lot 594 (part).
