Description
An antique hexagonal frame set of ancient coins and Egyptian amulets. The pieces include: a Silver Denarius of the Roman emperor Galba (AD 68-9), a Silver Denarius of the Roman emperor Domitian (AD 81-96), 12 Roman silver and bronze coins and include emperors such as Galba (AD 68-9), Domitian (AD 81-96), Hadrian (AD 117-138) and Allectus, who ruled from Britain AD 293-296. The 8 Egyptian amulets include one scarab, 4 of the amulets are of questionable age and those include the terracotta Hathor plaque, the Horus amulet, the Frog Scaraboid with cartouche of Amenhotep III and the wing from a winged scarab. The head rest amulet, papyrus scepter and Ptah figure are all genuine. 14 3/4 in x 14 1/2 in (42.3 x 41.7 cm). A nice antique selection of curious from a late 19th - early 20th century collection!
