[Morgan, Charles L.] 2 works, 1 signed, by artist and architect Charles Leonard Morgan, AIA, close friend and Chicago Associate of Frank Lloyd Wright.
Provenance: Very good condition.
Condition: Charles Morgan was an artist and architect who worked closely with Frank Lloyd Wright. He made several mosaics to Wright's specifications, worked on the Powhatan Bldg. in Chi. and lectured on modern architecture. ++ Etching of men working aboard ship, under masts and sails. Inscribed lower left "To my dear "Mac" and sgd. lower right "Charlie Morgan 1929. Image size 10 1/2 x 8 in. Sold with all faults, not examined out of frame. ++ Colored pencil & chalk sketch of bridge in Toledo, Spain, made by Morgan in 1926 on a trip possibly commissioned by the AIA. Unsigned, in frame with notation written in pen on back: "Toledo, Spain/ 1926/ by Charled Morgan/ associate of/ Frank Lloyd Wright/ on European trip said to have been/ commissioned by American Institute of Architects." Artwork 10 5/8 x 13 1/4 in.
