Description
Charcoal on Paper measuring 18.5 x 22 inches in a custom wood frame with color wash details, and protected behind museum glass. Ben Messick was well-known for his Regionalist scenes as well as Modernist paintings. He taught at LA's Chouinard Art Institute in the 1940s where he remained as an instructor through the 1950s. While there, he influenced a generation of Los Angeles modernists.
Condition
Mostly Fine condition. There are a few small holes in the bottom right of the paper, caused by the estate stamp. See image three for a close up.
