Description
An Alco Builder's photograph of New York Central Railroad #5273. 84. This is a "Hudson" style steam locomotive with a wheel arrangement of 4-6-4. This design was built for passenger service. Alco used a trick of putting the date on a plate under the tender. The plate reads "JAN 1929". The frame measures 29" by 16". It's a sharp print and shows nice detail. These locomotives hauled trains like "The 20th Century Limited" from New York to Chicago. New York Central steam locomotives have a "chunky" look because they had severe height restrictions so there is never any prominent whistle or bell to be seen. It does not have 2 eye screws or a wire for hanging. We can ship with reservations. yyy
