Item Details

Description

Nineteenth century brass yacht binnacle from Negus of New York. An ornate cast brass base supports a brass bowl and hood with oil burners. A top cap is engraved "Negus New York". The binnacle is fitted with a gimballed compass from E.S. Ritchie of Boston and serial number 21000. Bezel is also marked with calibration dates. The earliest date is July 19, 1870.
