Tibet; ca. late 19th century. The set composed of 26 steel tools of various shapes and sizes, all of which are chisel engraved. They are encased in a purpose-made Tibetan wooden box with 26 fitted compartments. The lid of the box is covered in cloth and beautifully painted with various Buddhist emblems and symbols. The tools are held in with leather straps and have not been examined out of the case. An extremely rare collection. A very similar set is in the collection of The Pharmacy Museum, Lisbon, Portugal, as well as the Heritage Museum in Hong Kong, exhibition of Intangible Cultural Heritage in China, Dec 21, 2008- Feb 16, 2009. .

The set is in good condition with some surface rust and corrosion. The case with some scratches and surface wear, but overall good condition.
