Description
Peru, Post Spanish Conquest, ca. 17 to 18th century CE. Lovely wooden kero, used by the Inca and their descendants to drink chicha - a type of fermented corn beer. Made from dense hardwood with conical shape flaring towards the top, exterior made by turning on a Spanish lathe, with raised ridges and incised decorations . An attractive example. Size: 5.5" W x 6.25" H (14 cm x 15.9 cm)
