Pre-Columbian, Ecuador / Colombia, Narino, ca. 800 to 1500 CE. A handsome bowl with a deep form on a short, splayed foot, decorated on both the interior and exterior walls with an impressive array of crosses, stepped, and various stylized geometric motifs with the Narino artisan's signature negative resist technique in black, tan, and iron rich red pigments. Size: 8" in diameter x 3.75" H (20.3 cm x 9.5 cm)
