Description
Egypt, Ptolemaic Period, ca. 330 to 30 BCE. A fantastic bronze sculpture showing the ram headed god Khnum, responsible for helping shape the forms of humans and animals at creation, on one side, and the canine head of Anubis, god of kings and embalming, on the other. The two together present an image of creation and the sustenance of it through death. Quite a rare representation. Size: 1.9" L x 2.2" W x 2.2" H (4.8 cm x 5.6 cm x 5.6 cm)
