Pre-Columbian, Mesoamerican Early Formative Period, Olmec/Tlatilco cultures, ca. 1000 BCE. This is a small blackware bottle from one of the earliest known cultures in Mesoamerica, with a bulbous bottom and a long, cylindrical spout. Size: 4.4" W x 7" H (11.2 cm x 17.8 cm)
Provenance: Ex-private Elgin, IL Collection acquired in the 1970s.
