Neo-Assyrian Period, 750-670 BC. A fragment of clay pillow-shaped tablet with cuneiform text; accompanied by manuscript signed scholarly note issued by W.G. Lambert, late Professor of Assyriology, University of Birmingham, 1970-1993, which states: Upper Portion of Neo-Assyrian Inscribed Clay Tablet. 47 x 45mm. The obverse contains most of 6 lines of cuneiform, but abraded so that little can be read. To his lord is clear. The reverse has only traces preserved. The tablet dates to c. 750-670 B.C. 40 grams, 45mm (1 3/4") Property of a North East Essex collector; acquired in the 1980s. [No Reserve]
