Reprint of the first English edition, which was first published in 1811. Pike's expedition was the first U.S. Government-sponsored exploration of the Southwest, and is second in the annals of American exploration only to Lewis and Clark. The two mounted photographic plates are of the House Joint Resolution authorizing this republication, and a striking view of Pike's Peak.

Condition

Spine and adjacent portion of rear cover rubbed and stained; rubberstamp of R. Stocks Watson on front endpaper and half-title; some marginal darkening to contents, else very good.
