HARRIS ARTHUR T.: (1892-1984) British Marshal of the Royal Air Force, Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief of RAF Bomber Command during World War II. An excellent vintage signed sepia 11.5 x 9.5 photograph, the wartime image depicting Harris, wearing his uniform, seated in a half length pose behind his desk which is occupied with various papers, pens, a magnifying glass, telephone and a communication system which he leans forwards to operate. Signed by Harris in bold dark fountain pen ink to a clear area of the image. Wartime signed photographs of Bomber Harris of this quality are rare.
