Description
Luristan, modern day northwestern Iran, ca. 1000 to 600 BCE. This is a simple shaped bronze bowl with a very slight lip. It was most likely made to be placed in a grave for offerings of food to accompany the deceased into the afterlife. Size: 6.1" W x 1.6" H (15.5 cm x 4.1 cm).
Provenance: Ex-Estate of John Piscopo. Mr. Piscopo was one of the largest collectors of ancient weapons in the US with a collection that spanned all cultures, all ages.
