A Chinese Oxblood Lotus Bowl. Chinese, likely 20th century. Of good quality and displays well. Sang de Bouef (French: Oxblood) is an opaque claret red to brownish red reduced copper glaze developed in China during the K'ang Hsi period and used chiefly on porcelain wares. Measures 8x8x5.50. Weight 3 pd 3 oz. PROVENANCE: A Historic Charlotte Street Home, Charleston, SC.
