Description
Two late Victorian turquoise parrots. The first designed as a pave-set turquoise parrot, with garnet eyes, perched on a partial stickpin and pocketwatch component, the second of similar design with ruby crest and gripping a seed pearl. AF. Formerly a stickpin and a hatpin surmount. Length of parrots 2.1 and 3.6cms.
Overall condition fair to good. Some surface scratches/ wear, discolouration and minor dents in keeping with general age and wear. Turquoise deficient. Turquoise vary from light blue through to deep green hues. Ruby are a slightly pinkish red hue. Garnets are well matched slightly brownish red. The stickpin to the smaller parrot is cut short and has a chain, bead and pocketwatch plate attached, file marks and discolouration. Larger parrot with hole between legs where the pin would have gone. Stones in good to fair condition with minor to moderate abrasions, some small chips and nicks.
