Description
Offered here for your consideration are two pair of nice Native American earrings. The first pair of post back earrings (named "Moonlight over Navajoland" feature square Damele turquoise cabochons resting in smooth silver bezels surrounded by very nice line designs that have been textured and darkened. The Damele Mine is located in Nevada, and it is a prized collector's stone. The second pair of post back earrings features one turquoise and one coral cabochon resting in handmade silver bezels. The turquoise settings are accented with nicely stamped line designs, and the coral cabochons are displayed on a silver overlay style setting with near perfect lines and cuts, and background textured using an etched technique and then darkened for contrast. These earrings will be a favorite for many years to come, and deserve a place in your collection.
MAKER: The first pair of earrings is hallmarked R. J. Scott (engraved, script). Ray (Raynard) Scott (1965-; Navajo). Scott became an active silversmith at age 7, and is a multiple award winner. The second pair of earrings is hallmarked TY (conjoined, stacked, stamped). Tim Yazzie (San Felipe/ Santo Domingo/ Navajo). Active since 1970s.
APPROX AGE: Modern. Purchased directly from the artist between 2019 and 2021.
SIZE: The first pair of earrings measures 3/4 inch long by 7/8 inch wide. The second pair of earrings measures 2 1/8 inches from top to bottom x 13/16 inch wide at the widest point. The total weight is 31.6 grams.
CONDITION: Good for their age, normal wear expected. Please look closely at the pictures as they are an important part of our description and are hereby incorporated into the description, specifically with regards to condition.
