An Islamic slip-painted incensory, c. 9th – 14th Century AD, with beautifully painted geometric decoration in dark brown sip over contrasting crème field. The vessel sits on a low pedestal foot with wide base, the interior with fitted dome with beautiful open-work design, probably originally removable to allow the incense to be placed within the bowl. H: 6 ½ in (16.6cm). A very attractive and interesting vessels with surface deposits throughout. Ex Derbyshire, UK private collection.
