Description
East Asia, China, Han Dynasty, ca. 206 BCE to 220 CE. A nicely modeled ancient pottery pig / wild boar standing squarely on all four hooves, with his head cast slightly downward, ears seemingly alert, one tusk emerging from the right side of his mouth, incised eyes, and tail curled to one side. A wonderful example! Size: 6.25" L x 2.625" H (15.9 cm x 6.7 cm)
Provenance: Ex-private Colorado collection acquired in the 1980's.
